Adult Education Center

NIC’s Adult Education Center is designed to help start and restart opportunities! Our program can help you prepare for the GED® (16 and up), get into college or improve your skills to gain a better job. No matter the reason, tuition is free and learning materials are provided. The AEC allows students to progress at their own pace and offers small group instruction to achieve goals set for each individual student. For more information or to get started call (208) 665-5099 or e-mail aec@nic.edu.

GED® Test Program

A GED® credential is proof that you have U.S. high school-level education. The GED® is accepted by nearly all U.S. colleges, universities and employers, as well as many schools and organizations across the world

Students must register, schedule and pay for the GED® online at www.GED.com.

Students under the age of 18 must complete the Idaho GED Testing Wavier Application. A completed application can be dropped off, mailed, emailed or faxed to any of NIC’s AEC centers.

The GED test consists of four content areas:

  • Reasoning through Language Arts (RLA) – 150 minutes
  • Mathematical Reasoning – 115 minutes
  • Science – 90 minutes
  • Social Studies – 75 minutes

The test is delivered exclusively on a computer, which provides a consistent testing experience nationwide and improved passing rates.

The GED now has 24-hour scoring on all four parts, including the new score report for reporting and remediation. Students can place in three score levels:

  • GED® High School Equivalency (Score >145)
  • GED® College Ready (Score >165)
  • GED® College Ready + Credit (Score 175)

Order your test records online.
