There's no better way to experience Coeur d'Alene Lake than by sailboat. Enjoy 12 hours of hands-on, keelboat sailing instruction aboard Outdoor Pursuits' 26-foot teaching sloop. Spending the majority of our lesson time on the water ensures that the student has a better chance of retaining the information after the course is complete. Proper use of equipment, safety, and terminology are all covered. Students must be 18 years of age.

Have you seen kayakers on Lake Coeur d'Alene and wished that you could be a part of the fun? Here's your chance. Gain hands-on experience and confidence with a variety of boats. Each session will consist of an overview of techniques with your instructor and a paddle tour of Lake Coeur d'Alene. Class content is designed for the beginner. Fee includes use of all equipment. Swimming skills are required. Students must be 18 years of age.

Spend an evening in the lake perfecting the elusive Eskimo Roll. The crew at Outdoor Pursuits has it mastered now it’s your turn. Participants are welcome to bring their own kayak (whitewater or sea) or use one of ours. This should not be your first day in a kayak. Previous paddling experience is required. Students must be 18 years of age.

Outdoor Pursuits Youth Adventure Camp

Join us for five days of venturing and exploring in North Idaho. Each day you'll enjoy different activities. Try your hand at rock climbing, kayaking, stand up paddleboarding, white water rafting, sailing, and hiking. Fee includes equipment and transportation. Students meet at the NIC Outdoor Center in McLain Hall.
Activities are designed for ages 12 - 16.

Benefit from this introduction to a sport that you may enjoy for life. Begin with safety training and knot tying. Learn about anchoring, belaying, and climbing techniques. Gain confidence, body strength, balance, and endurance. Content designed for beginners or those with some rock climbing experience. Fee includes use of all equipment and transportation. Students will meet in the Outdoor Center located on the south side of McLain Hall. Students must be 18 years of age.
