Molstead Computer Lab

Announcing the recent completion of the first stage of implementing the "GoPrint" Pay for Print Management System in the Molstead Computer Lab. This new system will be replacing a management system that has been used in the Molstead Computer Lab and the Library for over 10 years. "GoPrint" is an eco-friendly, cost effective way to eliminate waste while offering a versatile payment option for the busy student.

In this first stage, a few modifications have been made to how the printing process is done in the Molstead Computer Lab. No Copy Cards are necessary. Copy Cards will still be needed in the Library for payment of Printing and Copying until stage two has been completed. In the Lab, students will now have easy access to two payment options called "Purses" that are available at each print station. Black and white prints will be $.05 and color prints will be $.50.

The first purse is a quota that is a $2.00 pre-set amount. Each user who is able to use MyNIC or has been added by an administrator to the "GoPrint" accounts will be awarded this at the start of each semester. For students who have purchased Copy Cards for printing only in the Molstead Computer Lab they will need to trade-in their cards at the Computer Lab front desk to add any remaining money from the cards to the "Quota" Purse. This will only be done until the end of Spring Semester 2014. The second purse will be handled through Cardinal Cash. Those who wish to add funds for printing are ask to go to the "Get Funds" link on MyNIC or under the Cardinal Card link on the NIC web site. A $20.00 minimum is required. Also the Cardinal Card Office (SUB Plaza) will be accepting cash for any amount to be put in the Cardinal Card. Please read the Cardinal Cash Refund Request form prior to adding large sums of money to Cardinal Cash.

In the coming months print management sites will be added across campus. Please watch for the latest update on these sites. If you would like more printing information for the Molstead Computer Lab, please contact Shelley Cobetto, Computer Lab Supervisor, (208) 769-3380 or the Consultants’ Desk at (208) 769-3251.

The Molstead Computer Lab is equipped with five open bays that are available to currently-enrolled students for drop-in use and classes. The lab is located on the second floor of the Molstead Library (Number 23 on the campus map).
