Liberty Lake woman wins $300,000 house in NIC raffle

Raffle winner

David Swanberg, of Kennewick, Wash., claims his prize of a Chromebook at the NIC Really BIG Raffle drawing Wednesday.

Judy Felice, from Liberty Lake, was the lucky winner at the NIC Foundation’s Really BIG Raffle drawing Wednesday, winning the $300,000 house in front of a large turnout.

Cash and prizes totaling more than $335,000 were given away at the 22nd annual event, including the $300,000 house built by students in NIC’s carpentry program.

“Support of this Raffle fundraiser ensures the NIC Foundation’s ability to strategically invest in student success and program opportunities,” said NIC Foundation Executive Director Rayelle Anderson. “Our raffle supporters directly change lives for the better with every ticket they purchase, and we are extremely grateful for their investment in NIC.”

Winners of the first, second, third and fourth place prizes may apply the cash value to the prize of their choice, and did not need to be present to win. Only the winner of the $2,000 shopping spree was in the audience this year.

This year’s winners were:

Grand prize $300,000 house—Judy Felice, from Liberty Lake, Wash., with ticket #3954

First place $20,000 car—Margaret Polla, from Mullan, Idaho, with ticket #4593

Second place $10,000 boat—Ashley Duchow-Moore, of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, with ticket #1837.

Third place $3,500 vacation package—Roman Reyes, of Emmett, Idaho with ticket #4079.

Fourth place $2,000 shopping spree—Carol Peterlin, of Dunsmuir, Calif., with ticket #2717.

Those who purchased tickets by May 31 also qualified to win two additional early bird prizes. The $750 Costco Gift Card was won by Amy Hirtle, of Hayden, and the Silverwood Gold Season Pass was won by Marvin Krueger of Tulsa, OK.

Seven bonus prizes were also given away. Jeff Jensen of Hayden, Idaho, won an iPad; David Swanberg, of Kennewick, Wash., won a Chromebook; Arthea Grant of Spokane, Wash., won a Keurig Brewer; Christine Roach, of Spokane, Wash., won a meal at the Texas Roadhouse; Sheree Murray, of Post Falls, Idaho, won an auto detail kit; Khalid Baber, of Post Falls, Idaho, won a beach fun pack; and Donnie Shove, of Twin Lakes, Idaho, won a movie pack.

The last of the Really BIG Raffle’s 5,000 tickets were sold by May 31, which is the earliest the raffle has ever sold out. The revenue generated by the raffle greatly enhances the NIC Foundation’s ability to support students in their pursuit of a quality education.
