NIC to host Bigfoot-Cardinal Classic Dec. 4-6


North Idaho College men’s basketball will be hosting the 6th annual Bigfoot-Cardinal Classic with games played at Christianson Gym and the Community Colleges of Spokane Dec. 4-6.

The eight-team format includes two games played each date beginning Friday, Dec. 4. Invited teams include Big Bend Community College, Green River Community College, Whatcom Community College, Centralia Community College, Community Colleges of Spokane, Yakima Valley College and Everett Community College.

Games open at NIC on Dec. 4 with Big Bend versus Green River at 5:30 p.m., followed by NIC versus Whatcom at 7:30 p.m. The winners will play at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 5. Losing teams play at 5:30 p.m. For a complete tournament schedule, visit www.nicathletics.com.

All games will be hosted by NIC Sunday, Dec. 6, with the fourth-place game at 11 a.m., third-place game at 1 p.m. and the championship game at 3 p.m.

The NIC men’s basketball team is currently 7-0 and they are ranked 17th in the NJCAA. The Cardinals feature two players in the top 20 in the nation in scoring. Sophomore Braian Angola-Rodas is third in the nation at 24.5 points per game and sophomore Brayon Blake averages 19.2 points per game.

Tickets are $6 each and can be purchased at the gate. Student tickets are $4. NIC students with valid ID will be admitted for free.
