Community invited to career, technical facility ribbon cutting Sept. 28

The community is invited to come celebrate with North Idaho College the opening of a new career and technical education facility at a ribbon cutting ceremony at 4 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 28, at 7064 W Lancaster Road in Rathdrum. The facility will be open for employee- and student-led tours from 4:45 to 5:45 p.m. A social with refreshments will be held from 4:15 to 5:45 p.m.   

The 110,960-square-foot facility was built with $15 million from college capital funds coupled with donations secured through the Building the Future Campaign, which has raised more than $4.4 million of its $5 million goal. The facility will house the following programs: Advanced Manufacturing/Mechatronics, Automotive Technology, Collision Repair Technology, Computer Aided Design Technology—Architectural, Computer Aided Design Technology—Mechanical, Diesel Technology, Industrial Mechanic/Millwright, Machining and CNC Technology, and Welding Technology.

The NIC Board of Trustees will hold its public meeting inside the facility at 6 p.m. following the ceremony.
