NIC announces new Executive Director for Human Resources
North Idaho College President Rick MacLennan today announced the selection of Don Millikan as NIC’s new Executive Director for Human Resources. In this cabinet-level position, Millikan will play a critical role in cultivating NIC’s greatest resource: its people. “Don is a leader with a commitment to improving operations and a passion for developing talent,” MacLennan said.
In his new role, Millikan will report directly to the president and provide strategic leadership on human resource matters. “Don joins our executive leadership team to help drive our college’s organizational performance through the recruitment, development and retention of high-caliber faculty and staff,” MacLennan said.
Millikan is no stranger to understanding the mission of North Idaho College, as he currently serves on several of the college’s industry advisory committees. “I am a big fan of NIC and the many opportunities it provides students so this opportunity excites me greatly,” Millikan said. “NIC is a key economic building block in this region and I look forward to contributing to the college’s future success.”
Millikan brings a wealth of human resource experience, most recently as the Director of Human Resources for Unitech Aerospace in Hayden. Prior experience in retail, banking, and manufacturing round out Millikan’s career in human resources. In addition to holding an active Senior Certified Professional Certification in Human Resources, Millikan received his bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Montana.
North Idaho College is a large, complex organization and Millikan’s diverse background involving all aspects of the human resources profession will allow him to lead the recruiting, employee relations, policies and procedures, training and performance management efforts for the college.
Millikan begins his role at NIC on April 17.
