NIC Choral Union to present ‘Spring Hopes Eternal' concert April 18

The North Idaho College Cardinal Chorale and Chamber Singers will present the “Spring Hopes Eternal” concert at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 18, at First Presbyterian Church at 521 E. Lakeside Ave. in Coeur d’Alene.

Selections for this concert celebrate the many facets of the season of spring. The Chamber Singers will perform a “Wedding Cantata” by Daniel Pinkham in addition to several spring themes madrigals from Renaissance composers. The Cardinal Chorale will perform selections for jazz pianist, George Shearing’s “Songs and Sonnets.” These selections feature the words of William Shakespeare. The chorale will end the program with a gospel setting of Langston Hughes’ “In Time of Silver Rain” set by Rollo Dilworth.
