Poet Ben Cartwright to give reading at NIC Nov. 1


North Idaho College will host a reading by author Ben Cartwright on his book The Meanest Things Pick Clean from noon to 1 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 1, at the NIC Writing Center. The reading is free and open to the public.

Ben Cartwright's work has appeared in The Pinch, DIAGRAM, West Branch, Seneca Review, and elsewhere. His chapbook The Meanest Things Pick Clean has just been published by Floating Bridge Press. His debut poetry collection After Our Departure was the winner of the Powder Horn Prize, and was published by Sage Hill Press in 2016. He lives in Spokane, where he teaches at Spokane Falls Community College.

The event is sponsored by NIC’s literary magazine Trestle Creek Review, the NIC Writing Center and the NIC English Club.
