NIC to present ‘Vox Feminea' concert April 17

The North Idaho College Cardinal Chorale, Chamber Singers, and members of the Cardinal Chamber Orchestra will present the “Vox Feminea” concert at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 17, at First Presbyterian Church at 521 E. Lakeside Ave. in Coeur d’Alene.

“Vox Feminea” will feature the works of female composers spanning four centuries.  “Vox Feminea” or “The Feminine Voice” celebrates the works Isabella Leonarda, Fanny Hensel, Pauline Oliveros, Abbie Bettinis, and Northwest Composers Giselle Wyers, Karen Thomas, and Joan Szymko.

Please note that because of an on-going renovation project at First Presbyterian Church, the Sanctuary is not ADA accessible for this concert.   Entrance to the concert will be at the church’s main doors at the corner of Sixth and Lakeside Avenue.

Mendez brings 37 years of experience to the Choral Union. Celebrating more than 12 years at the college, he said he strives to instill a sense of artistry, quality, beauty and community service in each performance. Mendez is active in area choral music and also serves as a clinician, performer, and guest conductor throughout the Northwest.

The concert is free and open to everyone.
