Cards softball team advance to title, play at 1:30 p.m.


The No. 1-ranked Cards held off late rally by No. 3 Edmonds Community College to advance to the 2018 NWAC tournament championship with a 7-5 victory.

Leading 7-3 in the 6th inning, the Cards gave up two runs before relief pitcher Audrey Siepert shut down the Edmonds’ rally. Siepert pitched a perfect 7th to earn the save and preserve the win.

The Cards will play the winner of Lower Columbia and Edmonds at 1:30 on Monday. A win clinches the title for the Cards, but the two teams would meet again at 4 p.m. if the Cards fall in game 1.
