Space still available in NIC fitness camp

Space is still available in the first ever fitness camp at North Idaho College for children in first through sixth grades. NIC Assistant Men's Basketball Coach Jared Phay, who holds a master's degree in physical education, will join NIC physical education majors and student-athletes in leading the NIC Fitness Camp July 12-16. The camp will focus on noncompetitive games and activities, such as ultimate Frisbee, soccer and capture the flag, that encourage fitness. Participants will be divided into two groups for the weeklong camp held on NIC's soccer field as well as at the Coeur d'Alene City Park. First through third graders will participate in activities from 9 a.m. to noon each day and fourth through sixth graders will take the field from 1 to 4 p.m. Cost is $75 per child, which includes a t-shirt. Prizes will also be awarded to reward positive attitudes and good sportsmanship. Space is limited and the deadline for entry is July 9. Information: (208) 769-5975.
