Filing deadline nears for NIC Board of Trustees election

The deadline for filing a declaration of candidacy for the two open positions on the North Idaho College Board of Trustees is Sept. 1. NIC is governed by a five-member board of trustees elected from within Kootenai County for staggered terms. Seat A and Seat B, both six-year terms, will appear on this year's general election ballot during Idaho's general election Nov. 2. Eligible candidates must be at least 18 years old, a resident of Kootenai County for at least 30 days prior to the election and a registered voter. Candidates must also obtain five signatures from others meeting the same elector requirements on a nominating petition. Declaration of candidacy forms are available in the NIC Business Office, located in Lee-Kildow Hall Room 111, or the Kootenai County Elections Office at 315 West Garden Ave. Information: (208) 769-3340 or (208) 446-1030.
