NIC hires new alumni coordinator

North Idaho College recently hired Sara Fladeland as the new coordinator of alumni relations in the NIC Development Office. In that role, Fladeland will be responsible for overseeing the NIC Alumni Association and its more than 2,000 members while building and maintaining relationships with all NIC alumni. “I look forward to working with NIC alumni and others to encourage a lifelong interest in NIC as well as provide opportunities for NIC alumni to reconnect with the college and its students,” Fladeland said. Fladeland, an NIC alum and Coeur d'Alene native, most recently served as volunteer services coordinator for the Panhandle Health District. She also worked as volunteer coordinator for the Coeur d'Alene Area Chamber of Commerce during the 2003 Ironman Triathlon, served on the organizing committee for the 2002 Winter Olympic Games in Salt Lake City, Utah and worked for the Olympic Regional Development Authority in Lake Placid, N.Y., coordinating the Winter Goodwill Games and ESPN Great Outdoor Games in 2000. Fladeland said she is excited to work with NIC alumni because they share a special bond with the community and the college. “NIC is such an important part of our community and provides so many with an opportunity for higher education,” Fladeland said. “It is exciting to be a part of it.”
