NIC Theater Department to present fall production of 'Gint'

The North Idaho College Theater Department's fall production of "Gint" opens Oct. 28 and with fast-paced scenes and tongue-in-cheek humor. “This is a beautiful play that promises to be a unique and exciting evening of theater,” said NIC Theater Director Joe Jacoby. The Romulus Linney play is based on the classic play "Peer Gynt" about a character that lies and seduces his way through life until faced with having to confront his actions. Linney pares down the scenery and characters in the original play by Henrik Ibsen, using nine actors, that don't change costumes, on a simple stage to play 32 characters in locations across the continent. This allows the action to move very quickly and invites the audience's imaginative participation in creating the world of the play. The play will be directed by Jacoby and the cast includes Guiseppi Romano, Anne Selcoe, Rebecca McNeill, Jack Green, Ben Baron, Jordan MacFarlane, Jacob Cooper, Christin Hinds and Amanda Cleveland. Curtain time will be at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 28-30 and Nov. 4-6 in NIC's Boswell Hall Schuler Auditorium. The play is intended for adult audiences due to adult language and strong sexual content. The shows are free and open to the public. Information: (208) 769-3220.
