Silver Valley workshop covers how to enroll in college

Learn the benefits of higher education and how to apply for financial aid and admission during two free workshops sponsored by the Educational Opportunity Center of Northern Idaho (EOC) Tuesday, Nov. 16 in Kellogg. The workshops will cover determining a career or college major, applying for college admission and how to apply for federal aid through the U.S. Department of Education. The 1.5-hour workshops will be held at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. at the Idaho Department of Commerce and Labor Office (formerly Job Service), located at 35 Wildcat Way in Kellogg. EOC is a federally-funded program located at North Idaho College focused on assisting adult residents of Idaho's five northern counties in enrolling in postsecondary education. All services are free. Registration for the workshops is not required, but attendees are asked to call in advance to help organizers prepare materials. Walk-ins will be welcomed depending on availability of materials and space. Information: Toll free 1-866-362-4664 or (208) 666-8017.
