Idaho native to perform comedy at NIC

Comedian Dan Cummins, who performs across the country at comedy clubs and colleges, will entertain an audience at North Idaho College with his personal and observational humor and comedic songs at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 1 in the NIC Activities Center, on the lower level of Edminster Student Union Building on NIC's main campus. Cummins grew up in Riggins, Idaho and started his career as a comedian in an annual sketch comedy production at Gonzaga University in the late 90s while pursuing a degree in psychology. After graduating, he performed at his first open-mic in Spokane and decided that comedy may be the path for him. Cummins has since participated in various comedy competitions, including a second-place finish in the Seattle International Comedy Competition in 2001, and performed at events such as the Boston Comedy Festival and the San Francisco Comedy Competition. He was a semi-finalist in the 2003 Comedy Central Laugh Riots competition and appears regularly on the Bob and Tom syndicated morning radio show. The event is free and open to the public.
