NIC volleyball team moves up NJCAA national poll

The North Idaho College volleyball team (22-3) moved up one spot to fifth in today's National Junior College Athletic Association Division I volleyball poll.
The Cardinals were ranked ninth in the nation in the Sept. 13 and jumped to sixth the following week.
The College of Southern Idaho (33-1) in Twin Falls was ranked No. 1 in the poll followed by Miami Dade College in Miami, Fla., and Western Nebraska Community College in Scottsbluff, Neb.
NIC has a .297 hitting percentage as a team and currently leads the Scenic West Athletic Conference with 14.85 kills per game is second in the league for service aces with 2.89 per game.
NIC has several volleyball players faring well in the SWAC statistical categories. Daidre Mendenhall and Collese Dornan are third and fourth for hitting percentage.

Cintia Alessi is ranked No. 2 in the SWAC for kills, averaging 3.71 per game. Lynnea Braun is ranked fourth for service aces and Katie Lippi is fourth for digs with a 3.65 average.
