NIC men's soccer team retains spot in national polls

The North Idaho College men's soccer team (11-1-3 overall, 5-0-1 SWAC) was ranked in the top 20 in the nation for the second week in a row in the NJCAA Division I national soccer poll released Oct. 18. Mercer County Community College in Trenton, NJ was ranked No. 1 followed by Louisburg College in Louisburg, NC and Yavapai College in Prescott, Ariz.
The Cardinals were one of five schools to receive additional votes for the top 15 in the nation. The other schools receiving votes were Darton College (Ga.), Dean College (Mass.), Iowa Western Community College and Schoolcraft College (Mich.). 
NIC will play Colorado Mountain College on Oct. 29 for the Region 18 championship. This will be the third match between the teams with the Cardinals winning the first two by scores of 6-2 and 2-1. The winner will travel to Arizona to play the District 1 champion for a spot in the NJCAA national tournament in Tyler, Texas.
