Shriners Hospitals trustee to speak at NIC Booster Club luncheon

Shriners Hospitals for Children Board of Trustee Bob Smith will be the featured speaker at the North Idaho College Booster Club luncheon at noon Tuesday, Oct. 25 at the Hot Rod Café in Post Falls.

Smith will present a short video about a world-class athlete while speaking about patients and former patients who have overcome adversity and gone on to become great athletes.

The Shriners board oversees 22 hospitals in the United States, Mexico and Canada that specialize in pediatric care. The hospitals, founded by the Shrine Fraternity, provide medical care to children absolutely free of charge through 18 orthopedic hospitals, three hospitals dedicated to treating children with severe burns and one hospital that provides orthopedic, burn and spinal cord injury care.

The NIC Booster Club holds its regular weekly meetings Tuesdays at noon in the Coeur d’Alene Resort’s Shore Lounge. The meeting is held at a different location on the last Tuesday of the month and typically features a guest speaker.

The public is welcome to attend any of the weekly meetings.
