NIC Outdoor Pursuits, Vertical Earth present Halloween-themed bike race

Ghouls, ghosts and goblins won’t only come out to trick-or-treat this year. They’ll also be riding their bikes throughout Coeur d’Alene Oct. 29 during the Halloween Bike Festival, cosponsored by North Idaho College’s Outdoor Pursuits and Vertical Earth.
The event will include a cyclocross race from noon to 1 p.m. on a pavement, dirt and grass course on NIC’s main campus. Registration begins at 10 a.m. behind Seiter Hall at NIC.
Participants in the fun race, which begins at 1 p.m., will be encouraged to wear costumes as prizes will be awarded for racers in each division as well as for best costumes. The fun race is sponsored by NIC’s Outdoor Pursuits and is free and open to the public.
Following the race, the Skeleton Drag Bike Cruise at 2 p.m. will take participants in costume on a cruise through Coeur d’Alene. Prizes for best costumes will be awarded during the cruise as well. The cruise is free and open to participants of all ages.
Call Vertical Earth at (208) 667-5503 for race registration information or NIC’s Outdoor Pursuits at (208) 769-7809 for fun race or cruise information.
