NIC chapter of BPA collecting used cell phones
The North Idaho College chapter of Business Professionals of America (BPA) is collecting used cell phones as a part of a statewide BPA community service project for Special Olympics.
Through the Recycle for Special Olympics program, Special Olympics will receive an average of $9 for each working cell phone donated. The funds will benefit the Olympics program, education for special needs kids and various grants and special programs for the children.
Donation boxes have been set up across NIC’s campus and throughout the community, including Stein’s IGA, Panhandle State Bank and North Idaho Fitness in Rathdrum, the Spirit Lake City Hall, the Boundary County Treasurer’s Office, NIC’s McLain Hall and the Lake City Playhouse in Coeur d’Alene.
In addition to making a donation to Special Olympics, RMS Communications Group will remanufacture the phones to be donated to women’s domestic violence shelters, fire fighters and various other organizations.
