NIC theater presents winter production of Baby with the Bathwater

The North Idaho College Theater Department’s winter production opens Thursday, Feb. 16 with Baby with the Bathwater,a dark, satirical comedy with elements of farce, dealing with the neuroses of parenthood and childhood.
“Hang on tight because you’ll be going for a wild ride,” said NIC Theater Director Joe Jacoby. “The play pulls no punches, but is very funny and has something constructive to offer that shines through the darkness.”
The Christopher Durang play is about the neuroses of parenthood and what happens when we give in to our fears about parenting. The play is written in an absurdist, playful style and, despite its dark theme, has a hopeful ending.
The play will be directed by NIC alum Daniel Edmiston, who has worked extensively with the NIC Theater Department as a playwright, director and actor. The cast includes NIC students Arron Craft of Post Falls, Whittney Hawk of Coeur d’Alene and Garrett McDonald of Hayden Lake as well as former NIC students Monica Thomas and Cory Jasmin.
Curtain time will be at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 16, 17, 18, 23, 24 and 25 in NIC’s Boswell Hall Schuler Auditorium.
The play is intended for adult audiences due to adult themes and strong language.
The shows are free and open to the public.
