NIC presents last seminar of health and wellness series

North Idaho College will wrap up a series of seminars this spring focused on health and wellness with a presentation on maintaining wellness while traveling.
Dr. Richard Gower, who specializes in internal medicine as well as travel medicine and immunizations at the Rockwood Clinic in Spokane, will present “Traveling Well” from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Monday, March 13 in Room 106 of NIC’s Meyer Health and Sciences Building.
Gower will stress during the seminar that staying healthy while traveling is a matter of planning, not luck. The seminar will teach about medications, vaccinations, jet lag prevention, food and beverage consumption and packing tips to help travelers prevent illness or unanticipated health risks.
The series is sponsored by the North Idaho College Wellness Committee, the NIC Division of Natural Sciences, NIC Division of Health Professions and Nursing, the Rockwood Clinic, Premera Blue Cross and the Idaho Network of Biomedical Research Education.
It is free and open to the public.
