Final rosters set for Idaho All-Star Basketball Game

Final rosters have been set for the third annual Idaho All-Star Basketball Game and several members of the recently-published Idaho All-State teams are represented on all four teams.
The All-Star Basketball Games are scheduled for Saturday, April 8 at NIC’s Christianson Gym in Coeur d’Alene. The games are sanctioned by the Idaho High School Activities Association.
The southern Idaho boys’ roster features Idaho Gatorade Player of the Year Brady Jardine of the 5A state champion Twin Falls team. Brady recently signed with Utah State. He is joined by Twin Falls teammates Brett Vriesman, a first team All-State selection, and Brandon Stokes, a second team selection. Wil Carter, a first team All-State 6-foot, 9-inch post player from Highland, and two-time 4A Player of the Year Louie Beech of Skyview join an imposing southern Idaho team roster.
The northern Idaho boys’ team is headed by 5A first team All-State selection Bo Gregg of Lewiston, his 6-foot, 7-inch Lewiston teammate Beau Blewett and 1A Player of the Year Jay Leighton of the state champion Lapwai team.
The southern Idaho girls’ roster experienced the biggest roster change from the original selections of the Idaho media selection committee, however the remaining roster is still strongly represented with All-State players. Whitney Owen, the 4A Player of the Year from Vallivue, fellow first-team memeber Cammy Dranganis of Skyview and 1A first team selection Katie Strunk of Shoshone head up the revamped southern Idaho girls roster.
The northern Idaho girls counter with point guard Jackie Lenz of the 5A runner-up Coeur d’Alene team, 2A first team selection Allie Dreadfulwater of Grangeville and Moscow’s 6-foot, 3-inch post player Kelsey Taylor.
The event will be a doubleheader format with high school seniors playing on teams representing northern and southern Idaho. The competition begins with the girls’ game at 1 p.m. followed by the boys’ game at 3:30 p.m. The event will include a three-point shooting contest with the girls competing against the boys and a dunk contest between the games.
Players were chosen by a selection committee of sportswriters and broadcasters from throughout the state. The committee selected 12 players, two alternates and coaches for the four teams.
Admission to the game is $6 for adults, $4 for students and senior citizens and will be available at the door, sponsor locations and local area high schools.
The games are cosponsored by Pepsi, Century 21 Beutler and Associates, the Coeur d’Alene Resort and the NIC Booster Club.
