NIC student selected as Coeur d'Alene Rotary Student of the Month
|photo1|North Idaho College student Jessica Beehner of Wallace was selected as April’s Coeur d’Alene Rotary Club Student of the Month.
Beehner started at NIC as a dual credit student while still attending Wallace High School. She graduated in 2004, having already completed 18 college credits.
At NIC, Beehner is an active member of several student organizations, including Phi Theta Kappa and the Students for Progressive Change. She chairs the Student Union Advisory Board and serves in student governance as an Associated Students of NIC senator in addition to sitting on numerous college standing committees, including Diversity Events, Advising and Convocations/Popcorn Forum.
Beehner is the recipient of numerous scholarships and she has earned Dean’s List honors at NIC all three semesters. She currently maintains a 3.865 GPA and recently received the Award of Achievement and Excellence in Communication certificate at NIC. She also served as a panel member and moderator for the annual Popcorn Forum Symposium the past two years.
Beehner plans to graduate in May with an associate’s degree in general studies and transfer to the University of Montana-Missoula to major in communications.
“In the future, I am uncertain as to which career path I want to take, but no matter what I choose, I want to do something that will allow me to help other people,” Beehner said.For More Information
