NIC hires new financial aid director
North Idaho College has selected Theresa Beres, who has more than 11 years working in financial aid for colleges, as its new financial aid director. In her career, Beres has worked in a variety of financial aid positions including more than five years as a director.
“Theresa brings a breadth and depth of experience in financial aid to North Idaho College,” said Linda Michal-Hawks, who led the NIC selection committee to fill the position. “She has a strong technical background and balances that with a sincere commitment to students and their success. We’re excited to have her join us.”
Beres completed a master’s degree in business administration from Belford University in April. She also holds a bachelor’s degree and associate’s degree from Eastern New Mexico University.
Beres began her financial aid career in 1995 as a part-time worker in the financial aid office at Eastern New Mexico University. In five years there, she worked her way up to serve as a full-time supervisor, learning facilitator and mentor.
She later was the financial aid director at Donnelly College in Kansas City, Kan., for one year before an opening in the financial aid office at Eastern New Mexico University brought her back as the college’s new director for more than three years.
Beres most recently served for nearly two years as the director of financial aid for Mesalands Community College in Tucumcari, N.M.
Beres will start at NIC July 17.For More Information
