Roth was an assistant men’s basketball coach at Gonzaga from 1982 to 1983 then returned in 1986 as a physical education instructor. The following year, he joined the athletics department as assistant athletics director/Martin Centre director, a position that later expanded to include direct administration for 10 of Gonzaga’s 14 sports programs. Since becoming athletics director, Roth has overseen the upgrade of Gonzaga’s facilities for all athletics programs.
