NIC to hold auditions for ‘A Midsummer Night's Dream'

The North Idaho College Theater Department will be holding auditions for its fall production of “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” Sept. 6 and 7. Auditions will be held at 7 p.m. in Boswell Hall Schuler Auditorium.
A total of 12 to 13 men are needed to play characters in their 20s, 30s, 40s and 50s. Five to seven women are needed to play characters in their 20s and 30s. Teenagers and younger children are needed to portray more than 10 fairies in the play. Community members are encouraged to audition.
“A Midsummer Night’s Dream” is a classic play by William Shakespeare set in a world between life and legend.
“We are hoping to make this an exciting and magical experience for the cast and the audience,” said NIC Theater Director Joe Jacoby, who will direct the play.
Auditions will consist of cold readings from the script as well as movement and possible improvisation.
Rehearsals will be held in the evenings Monday through Friday. Performances will be Oct. 26, 27, 28 and Nov. 2, 3 and 4.
