NIC Children's Center teacher earns praise in national magazine

North Idaho College Children’s Center teacher Colleen Taylor was recently honored as one of the Top Preschool Teachers featured by Nick Jr. Family Magazine September 2006 edition.
The national magazine received more than 500 nominations from parents across the country and consulted experts in early childhood education to select the top 10 outstanding preschool teachers nationwide.
Taylor teaches in the preschool classrooms and has worked at the NIC Children’s Center for three years. She considers herself a naturalist and visual artist and she uses that background to help the children under her care create, cooperate and problem-solve using art as a tool.
The NIC Children’s Center serves children of contracted faculty, staff and NIC students enrolled in a minimum of seven daytime NIC credits.
