Recap of Sept. 15 men's soccer game with SLCC: Bork scores late goal for tie

NIC's redshirt freshman forward Jared Bork rifled a low shot past Salt Lake goalkeeper Valan Campbell with two minutes left to play to even the score and earn a tie for NIC at Salt Lake. Salt Lake was the first team to score when Eduardo Romero connected on a bending free kick from 25 yards out in the 77th minute of the game. On a rain-soaked afternoon, the Cardinals outshot Salt Lake 18-9 and had a number of good chances to score, but SLCC's Campbell made several big saves and nothing found the back of the net until freshman forward David Powers fed Bork for the game-tying goal.
