NIC Bonners Ferry Center to celebrate opening with open house


The community is invited to help North Idaho College celebrate the opening of its new NIC Bonners Ferry Center with an open house from 1 to 3 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 28 at the center, located at 6791 Main Street next to Far North Outfitters in Bonners Ferry.
 
The NIC Bonners Ferry Center opened this fall for classes, with both credit and noncredit classes offered. Six courses are offered for Fall 2006 including economics, math, sociology, English and yoga.
 
In addition to classes, the NIC Bonners Ferry Center offers various services to students including admissions, registration, advising, financial aid and tutoring. The center also offers adult basic education and general education diploma (GED) services as well as job education training and English as a second language.
 
The NIC Bonners Ferry Center is open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursdays and 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Fridays.
 
The event is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be available.
 
Other events that day include NIC President Michael Burke speaking at the Bonners Ferry Chamber of Commerce Luncheon at the Chic-N-Chop at noon.
