NIC legislative candidates forum open to the public

The North Idaho College Popcorn Forum has agreed to cosponsor the NIC legislative candidates forum and open the event to the public.

The forum will be at noon Tuesday, Sept. 26 in the Lake Coeur d’Alene Room of the Edminster Student Union Building.

All Idaho legislative candidates from the five northern counties of Idaho in Districts 1-5 were invited to participate in the forum. As of 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 22, the following candidates confirmed attendance:

District 1Shawn A. Keough (R), State Senator
George E. Eskridge (R), State Representative, Position B

District 2Mary Lou Shepherd (D), State Representative, Position A

District 4Steven L. Foxx (D), running for State Senator
Jeremy Paul Boggess, (Independent) running for State Senator

Bonnie Douglas (D), running for State Representative, Position A
George C. Sayler (D), State Representative, Position B
Sharon Culbreth (R), running for State Representative, Position B

Bob Nonini (R), State Representative, Position A

The format for the event will not change. Each candidate will be given three minutes to address community college issues.
