NIC to hold auditions for ‘The Diviners'

The North Idaho College Theater Department will be holding auditions for its winter production of “The Diviners” Tuesday, Nov. 28 and Wednesday, Nov. 29. Auditions will be held at 7 p.m. in Molstead Library’s Todd Hall.
Men and women are needed to play characters ranging from their mid-teens to their 70s. Community members are encouraged to audition.
“The Diviners” is a drama by Jim Leonard, Jr., set in the 1930s rural Midwest. The play is a depiction of the friendship between a traveling preacher who has lost his faith and a developmentally delayed young man still grieving the death of his mother.
The play will be directed by North Idaho College and Cornish School of the Arts alumna Rebecca McNeill. Rehearsals will be held in the evenings Monday through Friday. Performances will be Feb.15, 16, 17, 22, 23 and 24.
Auditions will consist of cold readings from the script as well as possible improvisation. Prepared material is not necessary. Scripts will be available from NIC Theater Director Joe Jacoby in Boswell Hall Room 227. Call in advance to obtain a script.
