NIC Children's Center to host open house

The North Idaho College Children’s Center is inviting all former center families and staff as well as community members to attend an open house held in celebration of the center’s 20th anniversary.
The open house will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 28 at the center, which is located behind Christianson Gym on NIC’s main campus.
The NIC Children’s Center is a limited enrollment child care program that serves children of contracted faculty, staff and NIC students enrolled in a minimum of seven daytime NIC credits. The center also serves as a working lab where practicum students complete their student teaching for their child development degrees.
It was modestly established in 1986 in a house and has since expanded to include space and services for up to 66 children each year. The facility includes five classrooms, three observation rooms and a fenced playground for infants through preschool-aged children.
The open house is free and open to the public. Refreshments provided by Applebee’s Neighborhood Grill will be available.
