NIC Softball player Angie Boardman signs with University of Utah

Angie Boardman, NIC’s softball starting shortstop, has decided to play for the University of Utah next year. She signed her letter of intent Monday surrounded by her mother Janice Boardman, Coach Don Don Williams and Athletics Director Al Williams.

Angie’s batting average, .394, is currently the highest in the league capping her outstanding second year for the Cardinals. In 155 at bats she has hit eight home runs, scored 37 times and has given the Cards 37 RBI’s.

A member of the 2006 All-Scenic West Athletic Conference second team, she played in 50 games during her freshman season, hitting .350 with 55 hits, including eight home runs, and driving in 42 RBI’s. During her freshman year she broke several NIC records, including most RBI’s in a single game (5), and most home runs in a single game (2).

As a senior for University High School, in Spokane, she had a league best batting average (.554) and was name Offensive and Defensive Player of the year.
