Yapqi'nm The Gathering Place

North Idaho College will present its annual Pow Wow in Christianson Gymnasium on Friday and Saturday May 4 and 5. The Grand Entries are at 7 p.m. on Friday and at 1 p.m. and 7 p.m. again on Saturday.
Yapqi’nm “The Gathering Place” will include several dance contests for men, women, teens and juniors and tiny tots. Contests for drumming and singing will be offered.
Head staff include Thomas Morning Owl and Gary Fox as MC’s. The Headman Dancer is Derek Abrahamson with Headwoman Dancer Desba White.
The Yapqi’nm Indian Market for traditional Indian arts and crafts will be open as well as several vendors.
Sponsors for the Pow Wow are North Idaho College, Coeur d’Alene Tribe, Kootenai Tribe of Idaho and Northern Quest Casino.
