Newest NIC vice president to speak to Booster Club

North Idaho College Vice President for Community Relations and Marketing Mark Browning will be the speaker at the NIC Booster Club Luncheon at noon Tuesday, Feb. 28 in the Seasons of Coeur d’Alene Fresh Grill and Bar.

Browning was the chief communications and legislative officer for the Idaho State Board of Education until he took over the NIC vice president position vacated by John Martin in January. Browning served the Idaho State Board of Education in Boise since 2007 and was responsible for the development of all communications and media relations throughout all 44 counties of Idaho. He also served as liaison to the Idaho Legislature in addition to other roles in government affairs.

Prior to joining the Idaho State Board of Education, Browning served as news director for KBCI CBS 2 News in Boise, leading a news and production staff of more than 40. His background also includes anchoring, producing and reporting at other news organizations in Southern Idaho as well as working as a marketing executive for The Post Register Newspaper in Idaho Falls for seven years. Browning was sports director at KIFI TV in Idaho Falls from 1991 to 1998 and currently is a play-by-play announcer for He will announce the North Idaho All Star Game on March 17, which is being hosted by NIC.

The NIC Booster Club meets on the second and last Tuesday of the month at noon. The Seasons of Coeur d’Alene Fresh Grill and Bar is located at 209 Lakeside Ave. The public is welcome to attend. The cost of lunch is not covered.
