Tibetan nun to speak at NIC on ‘Buddhism in Everyday Life'

Venerable Thubten Chodron, an American nun in the Tibetan Buddhist tradition, will speak about “Buddhism in Everyday Life” from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Friday, April 27 in Molstead Library Todd Hall at North Idaho College.

Ven. Chodron will discuss how to incorporate the Buddha’s teachings into everyday life, and how these principles can work for everyone regardless of beliefs. Her presentation will focus on the teachings of the Dalai Lama on an ethical framework that will work for all human beings.

Ven. Chodron teaches Buddhist philosophy and meditation worldwide and has published numerous books. She was ordained a nun in the Tibetan tradition in 1977 and has practiced under the guidance of the Dalai Lama and other Tibetan masters in both India and Nepal.

The event is sponsored by NIC, Coeur d’Alene Dharma Friends and the Sravasti Abbey.

The presentation is being offered at no charge, but donations are appreciated. Attendees are asked to arrive a few minutes early.
