You think you know your basketball? NIC Communications and Marketing would like to challenge you to play in the NIC NJCAA Bracket Challenge. Just like NCAA March Madness bracket, this contest allows you to guess which teams from Region 18 will punch their ticket to the national tournament.
This is a winner take all contest. Click on the PDF, fill out your brackets and message us with your attached bracket. Each game in the Region 18 Tournament is worth a point. As the rounds progress, the points for every game increase. The contestant with the most points at the end of the tournament will win a gift basket from the Athletics Department.
Contest GuidelinesThere are three rounds for both the men’s and women’s NJCAA Region 18 Tournament hosted by NIC Feb. 28 through March 2. Although the men’s and women’s tournament are separate competitions, we are combining the two for this contest. Contestants must select the winners of both the men’s and women’s tournament to qualify. Contestants will be awarded points for each correct winner picked. The points per round increase as the tournament progresses.
The point system is as follows:
Round 1- 1 point awarded for each correct pick. Max 4 points possible in round 1.Round 2- 2 points awarded for each correct pick. Max 8 points possible in round 2. Round 3- 6 points awarded for each correct pick. Max 12 points possible in round 3. *Tie Breaker Total: Contestants must guess the total score of the championship game in both the men’s and women’s tournament. In the event of a tie, contest administrators will refer to the contestant’s estimated total score of both championship games to determine the winner. For example, if the score of the championship game is 78-70, the total score of that game is 148. The contestant with the closest guess to the actual total score will win the tie-breaker. Entries Limit one bracket/entry per contestant. Deadline All entries must be submitted by message (NOT posted to the wall) through North Idaho College's fan page at www.nic.edu/facebook no later than 10 a.m. PST. We will be able to track the time the contestant submitted their picks based on the time stamp of the Facebook message.
