Tibetan nun to speak at NIC on peace in an imperfect world
Venerable Thubten Chodron, an American nun in the Tibetan Buddhist tradition, will speak on “Can There Be Peace in an Imperfect World” from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Friday, March 15 in Molstead Library Todd Hall at North Idaho College.
Ven. Chodron has practical advice for knowing our imperfections: conflict, violence, loss, shame – personally and globally. Chodron uses kindness, clarity, and humor to advise how to develop peace in our hearts, and then share it with the world around us.
Ven. Chodron teaches Buddhist philosophy and meditation worldwide and has published numerous books. She was ordained a nun in the Tibetan tradition in 1977 and has practiced under the guidance of the Dalai Lama and other Tibetan masters in both India and Nepal.
The event is sponsored by NIC, Coeur d’Alene Dharma Friends and the Sravasti Abbey.
The presentation is being offered at no charge, but donations are appreciated. Attendees are asked to arrive a few minutes early.
