NIC wrestlers pass out books, give puppy preview

Miles Ratzesberger, a first-grader at Seltice Elementary in Post Falls, gets a sneak peak at the chocolate lab that will be auctioned off at the Winter CARDnival Dec. 18. He got first pet of the puppy while North Idaho College wrestlers visited his school to read to first-grade classes as part of the Shirley Parker Reading Program. Since 2002, the NIC wrestling team (2013 NJCAA national champs) has distributed more than 11,000 books to elementary students through the Shirley Parker Reading program, which was established in partnership with Parker Toyota. The team reads to grade-school students when books are given out.
