Region 18 Basketball Tournament Update


Women - #3 North Idaho (21-9) -- #6 Colorado Northwestern (7-21)

Final Game Summary, NIC 75 – CNCC 60:

Renae Mokrzycki had game highs with 25 points and 15 rebounds to lead North Idaho College (NIC) to a 75-60 win over Colorado Northwestern (CNCC) in the opening game of the Scenic West Athletic Conference basketball tournament (NJCAA Region 18). NIC shot 42 percent from the floor while holding CNCC to 35 percent. Kendra Martin led CNCC with 19 points, while Nyahok Bile scored 11 and grabbed a team high nine boards. Panisesi Taimani joined Mokrzycki with a double-double for NIC, scoring 11 and pulling down 10 rebounds. CNCC finishes its season with a record of 7-22 while NIC (22-9) will take on the number two seed Southern Idaho tomorrow at noon.


Men - #3 North Idaho (20-10) -- #6 Colorado Northwestern (8-21)

Final Game Summary, NIC 58 – CNCC 53

Colorado Northwestern (CNCC) hung tough until the end, but North Idaho (NIC) had just enough to hold on for a 58-53 win in the first game of the Scenic West Athletic Conference men’s basketball tournament (NJCAA Region 18). Shikei Blake finished with a game high 16 points as the Cardinals (21-10) won and advance to play Salt Lake Community College tomorrow at 2:00 p.m. Braxton Tucker had 10 points for NIC and Bryce Leavitt and Jordan King each pulled down eight rebounds. Leonard Hurst led CNCC with 11 points and Brandon Pasker had a game high 13 rebounds for the Spartans who end their season at 8-22.
