"The Career Services Center has been such a beneficial and valuable aspect of North Idaho College for me the past few years. I have received magnificent support and advice from both the Career Development Course, taught by Gail Laferriere; as well as phenomenal resume building advice from meeting with Karen Howell. I could not have made it to where I am in my schooling and pursuit of my career in Teaching Mathematics without the support of both of these wonderful, caring women."

“Being a 45-year-old single dad, made me believe coming back to college to change careers was impossible, until I walked into the Career Center. I kept hearing people tell me it’s never too late. Well, ‘it’s never too late.’ I totally believe that now. Thank you to all the wonderful people I have come into contact with in the Career Center.”

"I had attended NIC for two years before I came to the conclusion that I really didn't know what type of degree or career I really wanted to do. I had already eliminated some majors through trial and error, but I needed additional help. I went into Career Services not knowing what to expect, but I quickly found out that it was more than I had even hoped for. The staff is friendly, their insights are valuable, and they come equipped with a plethora of resources. And now, because of the aid of Career Services, with a special thanks to Gail Laferriere, I not only know more solidly what I want to do (I'm going for a degree in psychology), but I also know where to find the best colleges for my degree. NIC Career Services really does encourage you to "Reach for the Stars".

"While attending North Idaho College I was determined to make use of all the resources available to me. By far the most useful was the Career Services Center. Even though I knew I wanted a degree in communications, I wasn’t exactly sure how I wanted to put that degree to use. In other words, I still didn’t know what I wanted to be when I grew up. Gail Laferriere is an amazing counselor who gave me the tools to explore and discover how to channel my passion for helping others. Now I have a successful career myself as a workforce consultant for the state of Idaho."
- Stacey Hanlon, NIC alum
