Online Course Development (OCD)

The Office of eLearning supports colleges and schools in the development and redevelopment of new and existing online and distance education offerings from North Idaho College. Working with NIC’s Office of eLearning in the development of a fully online or hybrid course involves designing active and collaborative activities that take full advantage of the digital learning environment.

Our goal is to assist instructors in re-creating high quality on-campus instruction in the online environment. Understanding that each faculty member has their own unique style and personality, we work with the instructor in designing and building a course utilizing nationally recognized best practices.

As a faculty subject matter expert, you will collaborate with the eLearning team. The eLearning team is consisted of online professionals that have the technical skills, knowledge of best practices in pedagogy and andragogy, graphical design, and multimedia design in order to assist and support your online/hybrid course design.

You are encouraged to meet with the eLearning team early in the process as the development of a quality online course requires a significant commitment to time and resources.

Complete the Online Course Development form and click Submit.  Once received, you will be contacted by your eLearning team.

The design process would take approximately 6-8 weeks.
