Important Deadlines
FAFSA Priority Deadline:
The priority deadline to submit your FAFSA for the 2013-2014 school year is March 15th. Go to fafsa.ed.gov and login using your PIN. (You can apply for or Request a duplicate PIN at fafsa.ed.gov.)
Scholarship Announcement:
New Scholarship Application for the 2013 – 2014 school year. Students will now complete an online scholarship application instead of a paper form for the 2013 – 2014 school year. The individualized application will be available starting January 4th . For more information as well as a link to the scholarship application go to www.nic.edu/scholarships.
Satisfactory Academic Appeal Deadline:
Summer 2013: May 24th, 2013 by 2:30PM
If you are currently ineligible to receive financial aid due to Satisfactory Academic Progress AND you are interested in attending summer semester, the last day to submit an appeal to be guaranteed that it will be reviewed by the payment deadline is May 24th, 2013. Submitting an appeal by the deadline does not guarantee an approval.
Appeals received by 5pm on Tuesday, will be reviewed by Friday of the same week. Students will be notified of the results of their appeal via Cardinal Mail within one week.
Students who wish to have an appeal reviewed during a semester for which they are enrolled, must have their appeal submitted no later than midterm of the same semester.Tuition Payment Deadline:
Summer 2013: June 5, 2013 by 5PM
Please note: If you've accepted enough financial aid to cover your total balance you do not need to make a payment by this deadline and you will not be dropped from your classes. If your financial aid does not cover your charges and you do not make payment arrangements with student accounts by the above deadline, you will be dropped from your classes. In order to be guaranteed a financial aid award by the payment deadline, your financial aid file must be complete by May 3rd.
Verification Document Deadline:
Summer 2013: May 3, 2013 by 2:30PM
The Department of Education requires students who are selected for verification to submit requested documentation. Failure to do so by the posted deadline will prevent students from receiving financial aid. Students who have been selected for verification, must turn in these documents at least 30 days prior to the end of the semester for which to receive aid.
Fall 2013: July 26, 2013 by 2:30PM

To obtain a Tax Transcript:
1.Online: Go to www.irs.gov and click on Order a Tax Transcript.
2.Call: 800-908-9946 and follow the voice prompts to request a Tax Transcript.
3.Mail: IRS Form 4506-T Request for Transcript or Tax Return.
Spring 2013 Special Conditions/Independent Status Deadline
The deadline to submit a Special Conditions Application and/or an Independent Status Form is March 8th. We will not accept Special Condition Applications and/or Request for Independent Status forms for the 2013 fall semester until July 1, 2013.
