Catering - Policies and Procedures
It is North Idaho College Dining Service's desire to meet your dining needs and make your conference, banquet, meeting, or friendly gathering an enjoyable event. In order to provide you with the best service at a reasonable price, we need your cooperation on the following items:
The availability of a room is the responsibility of the guest scheduling the function. NIC Dining Services will make every attempt to ensure rooms booked in the Student Union are set in the proper manner, but arrangements for rooms outside of the Student Union are solely the responsibility of the guest.
To meet our schedule for ordering supplies and staff notification, we request booking your event at least 10 days prior to the date of the event. Advance notice will ensure space is held for your function and allows Dining Services the opportunity to prepare your function properly for the best results. An additional charge of 10% of the total price of the cater will be assessed for caters scheduled less than 48 hours before the event.
An estimated count must be given at the time the function is booked. Final guaranteed number is to be given at least 48 hours prior to the function. If the function is on a Friday night, Saturday or Sunday, 10 working days is required. For your convenience, we will set each event 5% over the guarantee.
You will be billed for the guaranteed number, or actual number if greater than the guarantee.
Cancellations must be made 72 hours prior to the event. Clients will be charged for special arrangements already incurred, prior to cancellation.
Special table or room arrangements that are not directly related to the serving of food or beverage may be subject to additional charges.
NIC Dining Services will deliver food or beverage orders on campus provided the requesting individual or department assumes responsibility for all equipment until it is returned.
Any damaged or missing equipment will be charged at replacement cost. There is a delivery charge of $10.00 per delivery on NIC Campus and $20 off campus.
A 17% service charge will be added to all caters requiring wait service, carvers, or display chefs.
Fresh flowers will be charged at $1.50 additional per person with a minimum of $50 per event.
Linen service will be charged at $1.50 per additional per linen with a minimum of $50 per event. Linen is not charged for a buffet table.
