North Idaho College and the NIC Alumni Association would like to express its sincere sympathy for the loss of these members of the NIC Family:
Sandra Gene Duff passed away on August 18, 2014.
Roy Rambo, '98, passed away on August 10, 2014.
Richard Earl 'Dick' Rainbolt, '73, passed away on August 8, 2014. Dick completed the Millwright program and then taught for two years at NIC before going on to work for the Coeur d'Alene School District.
Richard L. Hyneman passed away on August 7, 2014. Dick taught Speech and English at NIC for 20 years. He also led the debate team to numerous championships.
Shawna Maria Newman, '11, passed away on July 23, 2014.
Susan Marie Doughty, passed away on July 22, 2014.
Brandon Wisdom, '94, passed away on July 17, 2014. He was one of the first graduates from NIC's welding program, and was an instructor at KTEC and NIC at the time of his death.
Robert J. 'Bob' Cleveland, '58, passed away on July 17, 2014.
Rick Robert Howard, '90, passed away on July 9, 2014. He grew up and graduated from Worley High School.
Matthew Jacobson passed away on June 25, 2014. Matt was a graduate of Coeur d’Alene High School in 1971, and NIC. Matt was in the Air Force and served our country for 14 years. He also worked for the Idaho Transportation Department as an Inspector for almost 20 years. His legacy includes the scenic Veterans Memorial Bridge overlooking Lake Coeur d’Alene.
Sandra Louise Montee passed away June 20, 2014. Sandra graduated from Kootenai High School and NIC. She worked as a bookkeeper in the Silver Valley for most of her career. She lived in many places, but always considered Osburn, Idaho her home. Sandra had four children and seven grandchildren.
Sandra Morris passed away on June 12, 2014.
Alexander “Alex” James Robles passed away on June 7, 2014. Alex was attending NIC and was studying to become a Criminal Defense Attorney.
Donald A. Van Kleeck passed away on June 2, 2014. Don graduated from Coeur d’Alene High School in 1944. Later in his life Don returned to Coeur d’Alene to pursue a higher education from NIC and the University of Idaho. He received a Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Business, and Applied Science, later accumulating an additional 240 post graduate credit hours in Education. Don taught engineering and drafting courses at NIC for 18 years.
Cathryn Lynn Mason passed away on May 16, 2014. She graduated from Post Falls High School in 2013, and recently finished her spring semester at North Idaho College, where she was pursuing a degree in Recreational Management. Cathryn was passionate about fitness and spending time outdoors.
Frank Darrell Rosco ’87, passed away on May 12, 2014. Frank did one tour of duty with the U.S. Navy and then spent an additional two years in the Reserves. He then joined the U.S. Air Force for 16 years. Frank completed multiple missions to Vietnam to photograph and record the war. Some of his reels and photos are displayed at the Air and Space Museum in Washington, DC.
Ginni Sue Walker Lenz passed away May 11, 2014. Ginni graduated from Coeur d’Alene High school in 1981. She worked at JUB Engineers, Inc. for over 30 years. Ginni loved helping student-athletes, and served as a board member on the NIC Athletics Booster Club as well as the CHS Vikings Booster Club.
Michael Ray Poorboy passed away on May 8, 2014. He graduated from Rio Mesa High School in 1977 and then attended NIC. In 1992 he opened his own business in Coeur d’Alene. Mike was an active member in the Spokane County Raceway and Drag Strip community.
