Introduction:
Relocation assistance will be offered to new faculty and staff positions at the director level and above who are moving from outside the Spokane/CDA area.
- $1500 flat amount which is taxable
- Paid as a one-time stipend on their first paycheck
- Payment will only be made after the new employee starts working on campus
- If the new employee voluntarily leaves NIC or is let go for cause before their first anniversary, the full amount will be deducted from their final check. If the final check is not sufficient, the new employee agrees to pay the remainder within two weeks of their last day
- Any changes to the agreement must be in writing from the college president
- The hiring department’s budget will be used
Process:
- During the recruitment/offer stage the hiring manager will work with the HR Recruiter to start the relocation agreement process
- The hiring manager will communicate the relocation stipend terms to the candidate
- If the terms are accepted, the hiring manager will contact the HR Recruiter to start the process
- The agreement will be signed by the Chief Human Resources Officer, or their designee, and sent to the new hire for their signature
- A copy will be sent to HR to be kept in their personnel file
