Biography
As a Coeur d’Alene native, I have shared my love for fitness with a wonderful husband, two amazing kids, and
countless friends. I fell in love with fitness in my early 20’s after working the front desk at a local gym. I was
super impressed by the members and their commitment to their fitness journey. Many of them experienced
physical as well as mental transformation and I wanted to be a part of that.
I started to participate in those same fitness classes and I too fell in love with the support and accountability
that lead to my personal transformation. Through the amazing friendships formed and classes, I lost weight
and gained self-confidence. I had a new outlook on life that could have only come through the positive attitude
and fresh perspective demonstrated by the instructor and class.
The experience challenged me greatly and I found myself wanting to become an instructor. The thought of
being a positive influencer in a group-based fitness class put a smile on my face. I also loved to dance, so when
I attended my first Zumba® class I just knew that this would be my way of creating smiles in others.
Combined with my 18 years of experience in coaching at gyms and being certified in Piyo, Ripped, Queenax,
ASFA Group Fitness, ASFA Bootcamp, ASFA Step, Beachbody, I became certified in Zumba Basic 1 & 2, Zumba
Step, Zumba Gold, Zumba Kids and have been teaching it for over 8 years. I still love it!
In 2012, I started teaching Zumba at North Idaho College as a credit class. Every semester, students rave about
how Zumba is an amazing workout and how good they feel after each class. This is so rewarding as I am doing
what I set out to do. I want all students to know their life matters and they can have a chance to positively
impact others.
I'm currently teaching non-credited classes for the Rec Center and I'm part of the Wellness program for HR. The Team at the NIC is amazing and I love being a part of their vision. We want to help all students with their fitness journey and love giving back to be a life-changer in their life story.
